We love Greenville because everything is close to us. We enjoy heading out to the beach, Raleigh, or the mountains on any given weekend. We enjoy the many different recreation activities from ECU football games to little league baseball.
Living on the west side of Greenville has many advantages such as short commutes to the hospital, schools, many restaurants, great grocery stores and work. There are many beautiful neighborhoods such as Star Hill Farms in close proximity that are great for jogging and walking.
Our neighborhood is a true neighborhood with many different home styles, people of all ages and caring neighbors. Our neighbors include ECU professors, dental students, hospital residents, nurses, and people working in our community. The pool is great for relaxing after work. The community is surrounded by seven acres of wooded common area, which our house backs up to. There are many species of birds and the common area is both a beautiful and peaceful buffer.
Our favorite restaurant is CPW’s, they know our name and the food is outstanding. We also like to take a quick run down Dickenson Avenue and visit restaurants like the Dickenson Avenue Public House, or we pick from any of the twenty restaurants within a two mile distance of our house (Bonefish Grill, Cheddars, Outback, Kasturi- awesome Indian food).
For the closest groceries, we head to Fresh Market or Food Lion. We also stock up at Sam’s club and enjoy the fresh produce at Harris Teeter. Also, we are very close to the movie theater, Kohls, Walmart, Lowes, Sears, and Dick Sporting goods. On Wednesday nights we head downtown for the Umbrella market where local farmers have all of there yummy stuff and you can grab a pint of fresh local brew.+9
When we bought this property we just loved the huge, wooded, cul-de-sac lot. It is so private yet so close to everything in Greenville.
ECU has beautiful athletic facilities, the Bike Post has a mountain bike trail, River Park North is perfect for walking, hiking and bird-watching. If you enjoy spectating, there is frequently a college game happening. Also, ECU is known for its arts and theater productions.
The schools, doctors and the hospital are really conveniently located. With the high schools having open-enrollment, one really has the opportunity to excel in the school of their choice. There are some amazing private school opportunities as well. We are conveniently located to Greenville Montessori School, The Oakwood School and Greenville Christian Academy and Saint Gabriel’s Catholic School. We have really enjoyed living in this section of Greenville. It has been a wonderful experience raising our sons here.
