“One of the things I love about Grimesland is the small town, quiet feel you get from living here, yet I’m close enough to the city to satisfy my needs and wants very easily. Grimesland is wonderful because it is both safe and quiet….perfect for raising a family!

Our neighborhood is great for safety and support. It is filled with both families with young children and retired couples. If you are up for a friendly chat, there is always someone around, but if you prefer privacy, they are supportive of that as well. There are always people home during the day, which always made me feel safe. We have an annual HOA BBQ as well!

As a family, we love to eat at La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant, which is right around the corner! They are continually developing the shopping center right around the corner, which has provided us new options as far as food and shopping. We also love to order Chinese food from Speedy Wok, which you can either have delivered or pick up!

As far as groceries and everyday shopping, the WalMart around the corner is hard to beat! It is fairly new and provides anything you’re looking for in a less than 5 min drive! Unique to Greenville is Artisans, which is kind of like an outlet shopping experience full of local boutiques and shops! You can pretty much find any type of store you are looking for in Greenville, which is a quick drive we make almost daily!

When we bought this property, we were drawn to the location and size of the lot. We fenced in the lot, which provides us with more privacy and security (we have young children). We also have a private street (shared with one neighbor) that is blocked off from the other neighborhood by a gate. This gate prevents thru traffic, which was appealing to us with young children riding bikes. We are an active family, and this neighborhood (as well as the surrounding neighborhoods) provide safe areas for us to walk and ride bikes.

One of the most important factors when we were searching for a house was the school system our children would be in. We chose this house because it is in the best school system in Pitt County. We have 4 children, 2 of which have started public school, and we have had the best experiences at Wintergreen so far. With having such a large family, we have also had our share of doctors appointments and hospital visits, all of which are easily accessible from our house.

There are so many attractions, especially with young children, that are easily accessible to this area. We love visiting the Simply Natural Creamery & Jersey Farm, Strawberries on 903, Briley’s Pumpkin Patch, Aurora Fossil Museum, River Park North, and EC Cats. There are always events posted around town, such as the Winterville, NC – Watermelon Festival, The Umbrella Market in Uptown Greenville, Greenville, & the Washington Waterfront. We are in a location that all of these highlights are easy to get to!

Our power and gas are through Greenville Utilities, and the average bill for that is $225/month. Water is through Eastern Pines, and that bill is usually $50/month. Suddenlink does provide coverage here, so we have them for home security, phone, and Internet. DirecTV is also an option.”
